News Flash – ICSAZ 2020 Virtual Winter School a great experience
From 20th to 21st August, the Institute held a Virtual Winter School attended by over 300 delegates each day themed ‘Driving business success in the digital age’. The participants were cosmopolitan with a background from different continents and originating from Australia, United Kingdom, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
“The winter school was a great experience,” said Peter Turnbull, International President of the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI). He and the CGI Director General, Mr Tim Sheehy, participated as speakers and delivered great presentations.
Other speakers included the Auditor General, Mrs Mildred Chiri, whose presentation on Public Financial Management Dynamics was well received by delegates. The CEO of Dandemutande, Never Ncube, also shared very insightful thoughts on how digital communication is transforming and impacting the way business is being done, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc in different countries.
Delegates were also taken through the Company Secretary Tool Kit by Karyn Southgate, President of the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA). Many participants commended the Institute for holding the Virtual Winter School, saying they had been enlightened by the speakers on various subjects, in particular Governance, Digitalisation, Financial Management and the Company Secretary Toolkit.
